Plumbase chooses Bradford South for New Branch with Special Showroom

A leading plumbers merchant has chosen the south of Bradford to open a new, purpose-built branch which has created four local jobs. Plumbing and heating specialist Plumbase has opened its 190th branch on Tong Street which occupies the site of a former car showroom which had been demolished.

The branch has a large Reflections showroom which is the first in the company to include kitchens alongside its bathroom displays. The showroom has 25 displays in all. There is also a spacious self-select sales area and trade counter offering all the plumbing and heating products needed by the tradesman. The branch will serve local plumbing and heating engineers who can call in or order goods for delivery.

Manager Brynne Hirst has 17 years’ experience in the plumbers merchants and retail industries, having opened and managed Plumbase at Leeds most recently. Andrew Summers is assistant manager. In total there are six members of staff, four of whom have been newly recruited.

“Having lived and worked locally for many years I know the area very well and have built up good relationships with local tradesmen,” says Brynne. “I’m looking forward to welcoming them to this superb new depot which is impressive in its size and the range of stock we are able to hold.

“Plumbase has an established branch to the north of Bradford but there is plenty of business for us to be serving the southern part of the city, together with Cleckheaton and parts of Halifax. This is a busy area that is both commercial and residential in nature which is ideal for a plumbers merchant.

“It’s exciting to be the first Plumbase to have a kitchen showroom and we’ve already sold some since opening.

“Our branch has the feel of a friendly, independent plumbers merchant and we offer superb customer service, yet we have the benefits of being a large, well-established organisation and can offer very keen prices,” says Brynne.
