Plumbase donates football table to John Grant school for football club

As World Cup football fever is gripping the country, a local plumber’s merchant has donated a football table to John Grant School so that pupils can take part in a lunchtime football club.  Great Yarmouth Plumbase in the Breydon Centre on the Harfreys Industrial Estate, presented the table in the week leading up to England’s first match.

Plumbase donated the £300 football table so that children at the special school can enjoy their own football games during and after the World Cup tournament.  The school will locate the table in a communal area and is planning to set up a lunchtime football club.

“I know that most of our customers and staff are getting very excited about the World Cup and we are pleased to be able to help children at the school get involved as well,” says Ian Golden, Plumbase regional director.  “My nephew attends the school and I’m very impressed by the way they make sure every child is encouraged to achieve as much as possible and take part in stimulating activities. Plumbase is a local business that likes to contribute to the community where it trades and this is our way of saying thank you.”

John Grant School is a special school maintained by Norfolk County Council that caters for 120 pupils aged from 3 to 19 years.  It is equipped and staffed to provide education for pupils and students who have significant or complex learning difficulties.

Headteacher Gerald Hampson, said: “We are very grateful to Plumbase for their generosity in providing this valuable resource for our students.  I can see it will be very popular with all our pupils during the World Cup Tournament.”

Plumbase is a plumber’s merchant that supplies heating and plumbing engineers and members of the public.  Plumbase has teamed up with one of its major manufacturers, Rothenberger Plumbing Tools, to supply the football table.
